Shuffling, Dealing and setup options Empty Shuffling, Dealing and setup options

Post  NERTZ!!! Mon May 18, 2009 10:44 am

Some players play to where the dealing and set up are a part of the game itself. For example, when they say go to start the hand that is then when they start dealing there piles.

Others have a certain order, (mainly to prevent cheating) in which to deal the cards. For Example, when dealing first you count three faced down Nertz pile cards and then deal 1 faced up River card, then continue to dealing the next three Nertz pile cards, and then the next faced up River card.....and so forth.

Some players dealing the River facing down and can only turn them over after the game starts.

Feel free to let us know how you start dealing and shuffling.

Shuffling, Dealing and setup options Empty Open Nertz Pile...

For team play, we open the nertz pile so and allow players to play from both ends. It speeds up the rounds and gives the teammate holding the nertz pile a bigger responsibility. Also, we rotate seats every round to ensure that there's not advantage to where you are situated at the table.

We do the seat rotation if we have a unfair table set up as well. And we have only seen the nertz pile played from both ends through online video. I think the reason we play with the nertz pile facing down is because having it up makes it more tempting for cheaters to pull cards from the middle of the pile. lol
