Nertz card games?

Hello, I didn't realize that there were so many different nertz style games out there. I grew up playing with just the regular decks of playing cards. Does anyone know if that is the original way to play or did the other decks come first?

I have been playing nertz with regular playing cards for over 30 years. I only just found out about these nertz imitator game sets. I think it is safe to say that nertz using playing cards has been around way longer than these companies making these games.
